Titanium strip foil is a titanium and titanium alloy strip coil with a thickness of ≤ 0.8mm, which combines the lightweight, high strength, corrosion resistance, and antibacterial properties of titanium metal. It is a key material in aerospace, high-end manufacturing, and other fields. The following are its core characteristics and industrial value:
1、 Basic definition and specifications
Classification criteria
Titanium strip: a rolled titanium material with a thickness of 0.1-0.8mm, a width of 50-300mm, and a length of ≥ 1000mm;
Titanium foil: an extremely thin titanium material with a thickness of ≤ 0.1mm (ultra-thin specifications can reach 0.02mm) and a width of ≤ 300mm.
Mainstream brand
Industrial grade: TA1, TA2 (pure titanium, in accordance with GB/T 3622 standard);
Aviation grade: TA0-1 (purity 99.9%, impurity nitrogen/oxygen/hydrogen ≤ 0.1%).
2、 Core performance advantages
Lightweight and High Strength: Density of 4.51g/cm ³, tensile strength of 380-450MPa, specific strength twice that of stainless steel, suitable for weight reduction of key components;
Extreme corrosion resistance: The annual corrosion rate of seawater is less than 0.005mm, and it is resistant to acid, alkali, chloride, and nitric acid, with a lifespan of more than 50 years;
High temperature stability: melting point of 1885 ℃, long-term operation at 450-500 ℃, preferred material for hot end components of aircraft engines;
Biocompatibility, FDA certified, no risk of nickel release.
3、 Core manufacturing process
1. Rolling process
Hot rolling: 800-950 ℃ ingot → 3.0mm slab → 2.0mm coil (deformation of 33%);
Warm rolling: Rolling to 1.2mm at 720-800 ℃ → Acid washing to remove oxide layer;
Cold rolling: 20 roll precision rolling mill presses to 0.1mm (cumulative deformation of 80%).
2. Annealing key
TA4 foil: online continuous annealing at 550-610 ℃, with a 15% decrease in tensile strength and a 40% increase in ductility;
Ultra thin control: The thickness tolerance of ± 0.5 μ m needs to be matched with a dedicated rolling oil and tension system.
